Downloads and Installing
This page covers downloading and installing every application Venhola Consulting Inc.
publishes. Today that means Cordelia, the desktop application for
Garmin .FIT files. Kent, the command-line tool for the same
databases, is also available here. See Getting Kent below.
Installing Cordelia on Linux
Linux x64 is available today as a direct .tar.gz download. To install it:
- Extract it anywhere.
- Run
install.shto install it into your own account (no root required).
To remove it again, run uninstall.sh from the same directory.
Other platforms are planned afterward; the
Product Roadmap has the full order.
Once it's installed, see Creating a Database to get started. Or, to try Cordelia's database format first without any data of your own, see Example Cordelia Databases.
Installing Cordelia on Windows
Cordelia for Windows 11 comes from the Microsoft Store, as one package for both ARM64 and x64 PCs. The Store installs it and keeps it up to date. Microsoft Store page: build not posted yet.
To remove it, uninstall it in Windows Settings, under Apps.
Downloads
Downloads are hosted directly on this website, not through the source repository, which is private (see Contributing to the project) and isn't a usable distribution channel for releases. Rows are added to the table below as each platform ships; see the Product Roadmap for what's planned next. Downloading and using these applications is free of charge and covered by the License.
Cordelia for Windows is the exception: it comes from the Microsoft Store, not from this site.
| Application | Platform | Format | Version | Download |

Getting Kent
Kent is a command-line tool for Cordelia databases. It is its own download, with its own version, checksum and signature, not bundled inside Cordelia.
On Linux, install it like Cordelia: extract the .tar.gz and run install.sh.
uninstall.sh removes it. Then kent --help lists what it can do, and
man kent has the detail.
On Windows, save the .msix for your PC, ARM64 or x64, and double-click it. App
Installer shows the publisher, Venhola Consulting Inc., before it installs. Kent installs
for your account only; open a new terminal and run kent --help. To remove it,
uninstall it in Windows Settings, under Apps.
- Both are Linux x64 today. Kent's platform support does not wait on Cordelia's.
- Use the Kent release that matches your Cordelia. An older Kent creates databases your Cordelia will refuse to open.
Checksums and signatures
- Cordelia: SHA-256 checksum, GPG signature
- Kent: SHA-256 checksum, GPG signature
- Kent for Windows: SHA-256 checksum and GPG signature, build not posted yet. Windows also
checks each
.msix's Authenticode signature itself. - Cordelia for Windows: the Microsoft Store signs it, so there is nothing to check here.
- Public key (the same key for both)
