Creating a Database

Cordelia isn't available for macOS yet.

Before Cordelia can import anything, it needs a database to import into.

  1. Choose Database in the navigation panel.
  2. Choose Create.
The Database panel with no database open, showing Create and Open buttons.

If the panel shows no buttons at all, an import or export is running. The buttons come back as soon as it finishes or you cancel it.

A "new file" dialog lets you pick where to save it and what to call it, with .sqlite as the default file extension.

A save-file dialog set to the .sqlite extension, naming a new database
        database.sqlite inside a DB folder.
  1. Choose Home in the navigation panel.
  2. Under Create database, choose Create…, or press Ctrl + N.
Home with no database open, showing the Create database and Open database cards.

Pick where to save the new .sqlite file and what to call it.

What happens next

The Database panel after creation, now showing a green open-database indicator next to
the app name and Close/Status buttons in place of Create/Open.

If something goes wrong

Cordelia reports both rather than failing silently.
