What Is Cordelia
Free to use. No charge, no advertising.
What it is
Cordelia reads Garmin .FIT activity files, the format Garmin devices and
Garmin Connect use to record runs, rides, swims, and other activities. It turns them into a
plain SQLite database on your own computer. From there, you can export the data to JSON,
CSV, or Microsoft Excel, for use in whatever tool you prefer.
It exists for people who want their own activity history in a form they fully own and control, outside of any single vendor's app or cloud service.
Want to see what that database looks like before importing any data of your own? See Example Cordelia Databases for six ready-made ones to try.
What it is not
- Not paid, and not ad-supported. Cordelia costs nothing to use and carries no advertising of any kind. If you'd like to help support future development anyway, that's always welcome but never expected. See Make a Small Financial Donation.
- Not a cloud service. Cordelia has no account system and no server. It makes no network connections. Everything happens on your own computer. See the Privacy Policy for the full detail.
- Not a Garmin Connect replacement. Cordelia doesn't talk to Garmin's servers, doesn't sync, and isn't affiliated with, endorsed by, or approved by Garmin. See Garmin Technologies.
- Not a coaching or analytics app. Cordelia doesn't generate training plans, scores, or insights. It gets your data into a standard database. What you do with it from there is up to you and the tools you choose; Generating Reports with other apps covers the options.
- Not a general-purpose database editor. Cordelia's own viewer is deliberately read-only by design. Editing the data with other apps explains why, and what to use instead if you need to edit.
